I chose this concept of cloud and fire to represent the book of Numbers.
The Hebrews spent 40 years wandering in the desert, learning
the Torah in order to become one united people
worthy of entering the Land of Israel.
During this time they were guided by
God's pillars of cloud and fire.

Throughout history the stark,
silent desert has been a favorite place of refuge in which people could isolate themselves and sort out obscure,
difficult ideas and problems.

The desert is a place where
cloudy and unclear ideas
can be clarified and come to light.
Thus it was for the Hebrews.
